This year's spring show was held in glorious sunshine, and entries were up to 70 plus horses, ponies and donkeys.

We were happy to welcome members of the Donkey Breed Society for the first time, and everyone there welcomed them with open arms. Big horses may make a fuss about donkeys, minis (as always) took it all in their stride !

IMHPS classes were well filled, with some lovely animals forward for our judge, Diane McHale, and she had some difficult decisions to make. Eventual Champion was Audrey Scott-Hopkins mare Shadowplay Precious
Charm (pictured below), with the Silver Grace Stud's Silver Grace Little Cottontail as Reserve.

Shetland entries were up and the eventual
Champion was Elizabeth Howe's mare Helza
Delilah (pictured right), with Josie Saier's gelding Baddesley Cavalier as Reserve.

Donkeys created a lot of interest (as well as a
lot of noise!) and our judge in ring two,
Mr G Ellis-Jones found a worthy Champion
in Mr Andrews colt Crampmoor Branston,
with Jo Parrett's French filly Rikita Du Bocage
as Reserve.

Afternoon classes were hotly contested as usual. The jumping created just as much interest as always, with the eventual winner, Lincs Crackerjack clearing over 3 feet to claim the title. We all learned too that donkeys CAN jump as Frosty and his owner C.Humphries ably demonstrated to take third place ! (Frosty went on to take a special award
for the best overall performance on the day after competing in-hand,  in long reins, jumping AND driving !)

Winners of our Carr Day & Martin turnout award were Sally Skellern and her stunning yearling colt Golden Oak Mochachino (pictured below)

A special award also went to the youngest competitor of the day, who at only 3 years old took part in the
junior handler and the driving class ( proving to be a very able groom ).

Supreme Champion of the show was Audrey Scott Hopkins mare, with the donkey champion as Reserve.

We have had some lovely messages of thanks from many of our competitors and look forward to
seeing many of you again in September.
